How would you know if your child is already teething?

As your child begins teething, they might drool more and want to chew on things. They may sometimes be grumpy and they may seem cranky for weeks. Teething is painful for some babies, while for some it is painless. Teething can be uncomfortable, but once you noticed that your baby is very irritable, talk to your doctor. Teething won’t cause any fever although it may cause your baby’s temperature a little higher than normal, because of tender and swollen gums. If your baby develops a fever during his teething phase, it is probably because of something else and you should contact your doctor.

Here are some teething tips:

  • You should wipe your baby’s gum daily with a clean damp wash cloth.
  • Give your baby something to chew on and make sure that it is big enough so that it can’t be swallowed or will not break into pieces, posing a choking hazard.
