Summer Class in Golden Minds Academy

Elijah’s summer class in Golden Minds Academy started April 20. It was a two weeks full of learning new things and getting along with other kids. Elijah had fun. Whenever he goes home, he will show us the 6-8 stars he got from school. His teachers love him as well as the school owner.

The summer class is needed so that teachers can assess whether he’ll be in Kinder, Prep or Grade 1. The school owner told us that he is competitive and may enter grade 1 in June but he is only 4 years old. School time will be 4 hours and his classmates are 5-7 years old, so we decided to take it slow and enrolled him in Prep instead. The teachers assured that us if ever he gets bored with the lesson, they will give him advanced readings to work on.

Elijah told us that he was having fun. During their class, he is seated away from the other kids because he is working on a different worksheet. He was answering grade 1 worksheets as the teacher told us. The summer class went well and we are planning to enroll him to the second batch because we want him to get along with other kids. Unlike other kids, Elijah is not going out to play, he is at home 24/7 playing with his iPad or watching YouTube videos. I have to admit that I am bad for not allowing him to go out but it is for his own good. Kids in the neighborhood are older that him and he might not enjoy the things they are doing.
