How to quickly and easily Increase your Car’s Storage

You’re super excited about the next forest camping with your family. The checklist contains tons of things and you don’t want to leave anything at home. But what can you do when the car storage is full?

If you’ve had a few cars before, you’ll know that they don’t all come with a huge amount of storage. Apart from the boot, glove box, and door pockets, there might only be two cup holders. You may also find those door pockets, and the glove box is small and certainly not big enough to store much beyond some tissues and the owner’s manual. However, there are some innovative ways that you can add more storage to your car.

Interior Storage

When you want to add more storage to the interior of the car for a long journey, there are a few ways that you can do it without any hassle. Firstly, try stretching a net or a tote bag across the handles on the ceiling. It will give you extra space to put bags, coats, or other things you can’t fit in the boot. If you don’t have door pockets in the back, or if they are too small to put anything in them, then why not try using children’s hanging tidy racks and hanging them from the headrest of the front seat? It will give you lots of pockets to hold things such as pens, paper, and even your food and drinks. If you’re short of drink holders, then you can buy additional ones that hang on the door. These are a good idea, especially for those in the back that don’t often have any drink holders.

The Dashboard

Your dashboard is where you need most of the things when you’re driving. However, in some cases, you don’t have enough storage to keep everything to hand. Trying to attach your sat nav or your phone to the dashboard can be difficult, especially if you don’t have a lot of spare space to fit the holder. If you’re struggling, you can always stick your phone or your sat nav to the sun visor. You can then fold it up and down as you need it. You can also buy sticky material that you can place on top of the dashboard. These are ideal for pens, sunglasses, and other items so you can reach them easily.

Boot Space

Most people at one time or another will wish they had a bigger boot, or that it was more organized. Even a car such as a used Ford Kuga can feel small if you are packed to go on holiday. There are many products on the market now that have compartments for you to store things easily. If you don’t want to go to the expense of buying something, you can always stick some different-sized cardboard boxes together to create the same effect. Some cars have additional storage under the boot floor where the spare tire is located. These are good places to store the first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and other breakdown items such as the jack.

With these few ideas, you can drastically increase your storage space and also make the car more practical for its passengers.
