Stomach Flu

Last week, Elijah had diarrhea and was vomiting every now and then. I feel scared and don’t know what to do. He doesn’t want to eat and every time I breastfeed him, he vomits. He also had fluctuating fever for a day. He wakes up from time to time doing nothing and I feel so worthless because I don’t know what to do. I decided to ask a friend about his condition and she told me that it might be gastroenteritis. I searched for it over the internet and it turned out that it was true. So the next day we brought him to a private clinic but ended up going home without anything. No private clinic is open every Sunday.

Vomiting and diarrhea continues until we brought him to a public hospital for check up but as we reached the last process, the doctor told us that Elijah should be confined. I was about to cry when I remember that I am not alone. They will just surely tell me that if I take care of my son very well, this won’t happen.

  1. Hello Phoebe,

Thanks for the like in FB. It’s really frustrating when something bad happens to your child and you don’t what to do about it. I’d be hysterical if I were with you, if not for the fact that my sons pediatrician is my friend so I always get help when they are in trouble.

I suggest you buy Glucolyte, grapes or strawberry flavor, so when the same thing happens again, you’d be armed with the right remedy. Well, I think I’d write something about diarrhea later.

    I’ll keep in touch!

    Arlene
