Getting Married in the Philippines

Getting married in the Philippines requires preparation, document filings and attending seminars. Good thing I manage to search for some information that will help you with the processes.

You must bring you and your partner’s certificate of birth and baptismal, parents or guardians citizenship, full name and address, proof that you have informed your parents if you are twenty two (22) to twenty four (24) or
proof of parental consent if you are eighteen (18) to twenty one (21). and present to the local civil registrar to apply for a marriage license. Wait for ten (10) consecutive days during which a notice will be posted outside the office. Check for the fees charged for a license to get your marriage licence which is valid for one twenty (120) days anywhere in the Philippines. Applicants for marriage are sometimes required to attend Pre-Marital Counseling and Family Planning Seminar.
Schedule for a marriage ceremony, this can be done either in churches or civil offices. Show your marriage certificate, you may be interviewed and lastly schedule your wedding date. Two witnesses are required. Witnesses must be of legal age.
