The Day That Was

A few months back, my youngest daughter and I had met a car accident. We were a victim of a hit-and-run case in one of the busy intersections in our city. I got bruised on my arms and back for pulling her to my side for safety. But just the same, the help was too late because she was hit to some extent by the front rear of the truck. Unfortunately, this has caused my daughter’s right ankle suffered a twist which made her impossible to walk for weeks without an aid. At this point, her doctor has instructed me to buy a knee scooter so as not to caused trauma to her injured ankle and help her twisted ankle recover fast and of course, also through the help of a therapist.

It was a nightmare for me to witnessed such accident since my daughter and I were the ones involved. So aside from the physical pain my daughter was going through, she was also suffering psychological pang due to that accident. Due to this, her doctor also directed me to had her a psychotherapist or a social worker to assist her emotional distress pull through and make progress as early as possible.
That experience has shaken me for a while because I too was in mixed emotion since I was thinking it was my fault. That I had not been able to protect her on a matter of life-and-death incident. I thought of myself as a useless mom for a time so I also had myself asked the help of a psychotherapist.

For now, we both are okay and coping up life normally. Thanks God!
