My Most Memorable Moment As A Mother

Every single second with my son Elijah is memorable to me. He made me realize how wonderful life is. For those who are not reading my blog, I got Elijah when I was in my second year college. I thought God was punishing me for too much night partying that I have. I didn’t know what to do then. I can’t think properly. I can’t even tell my mom that I am pregnant.

After seeing Elijah for the very first time, everything changed. I WAS WRONG. God was not punishing me. He just gave me the biggest blessing I never imagined to have.

My Baguio Centennial Boy is now 1 year and 8 months.

Elijah knows everyone in our house. He can recognize their voice, face and body built but not me. He just smile and say hi to me as if I’m a stranger to him. He can say everything but not Mama. It hurts a lot since I am the one who breastfeed him and we are together 24 hours a day. He learns very fast but he can’t say Mama. But last May 16, 2011, the boy who will conquer every milk in the world called me MAMA. I felt like crying because after how many months he knows I am not Tita Aija, Dede Man or Ayie anymore. I am now his MAMA. He calls me Mama whenever he wakes up every morning and before we sleep at night.

My most memorable moment as Elijah’s mum is when he called me Mama.

  1. Doctors say that every child has their own learning stage. We cannot push them to do something that they know they cannot do or are not capable yet of doing. Yes we say, “Mother knows best”, but that certain ‘best’ is achieved through hard work. Its just a phase, and congratulations on getting through it. Much Love.

  2. nkaka touch naman. . .

  4. aw! so sweet!!!! naiiyak n ko eh…bakit kasi nagbasa p ko ng comment at nabasa ko p cmment ng ate mo LOL ;))

kidding aside…it hurts kapag d nya masabi ang mama and nauna pa ang ibang names but you know what it’s normal,,,kasi wala naman syang kapatid n nagsasabi ng MAMA lagi ko wala syang paggagayahan…unlike the other names n nsa paligid…mas madalas k cguro marinig ng baby mo when youre calling them. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. awww, touching nga yan. kaso i don’t remember when my son first said mama. wait when he first say i love you mama. mas kaiyak yun ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. awww! so sweet! Thinking about it now, I cannot remember the first time my daughter really called me Mommy. Whenever we ask her before where Mommy is, she would point to boobs. She is breastfeeding, made the connection and literally thought that “mommy” is where she got her dede. Hahaha! Good thing she changed it now. She calls me Mommy and my boobs “dow-do”.

  7. Awww, my little girl’s first words were Dada for Daddy. It took months before she called me Mommy but now almost every sentence has Mom in it because she either wants me to do something for her, or wants to tell me a story, or, or, or…. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love your story. Good job Mama!

  8. Awww…so true, blessing and I bet your mom loves being a grandma too! Being a mother doesn’t come with age ๐Ÿ™‚ Keep it up!
