Breastfeeding Myths

One of the free things that we can offer to our kids is the breast milk but not all mothers want to breastfeed because of work or certain situations.

When I was pregnant, I told myself that I am not going to breastfeed my son because I wanna go back to school again and I wanna drink with my friends again. My plan didn’t work out because the hospital where I gave birth didn’t allow formula milk and bottle feeding.

I was very afraid to breastfeed Elijah because I might not produce enough milk due to my small breast and my breasts will become saggy. All this fear in me subsides when I learned that these are only myths. There are countless breastfeeding myths that we believe are true. First time mothers should do an extensive research or talk to a doctor than relying on hearsay regarding issues about breastfeeding.

  1. Congratulations! Motherhood really changes the woman in us. I too have breast fed my 2 boys. Even before i got pregnant, i already have the decision subconsciously that i want to breastfeed my kids. And it really builds the connection between me and my baby. Though moms who haven’t shouldn’t feel less if they didn’t breast feed their kids. Mommies who are trying to breast feed their babies should be given lots of support coz breast feeding is not easy at certain points.

  2. I am proud to say that all my 4 kids have been consistently breast fed. It’s important that would-be moms know upfront what breast feeding is all about and not just long held beliefs that turn out untrue.
