Generic medicines have exactly the same effect, dosage, purity, strength and stability to branded medicines. They are much cheaper because the manufacturers do not have enough expenses of developing new drugs and the competition is quite tough that’s why they have to keep it down.
There is no truth that generic medicines are manufactured in substandard facilities and have poorer quality. Generic drugs do not have to look exactly like the branded medicines in terms of color, flavor and inactive ingredients but active ingredients should be prepared the same so they will have the same effect.
As for me, we do not buy branded medicines if it has generic version. I always wonder if they put generic and branded medicines together in the pharmacy or they separate it so they can find medicines easier. I guess it’s all about good Pharmacy Shelving.

Generic medicines are indeed a good alternative for branded ones because they are cheaper. They’re just the same anyway so why pay more for the branded ones?
