DIY TRAVEL GUIDE: BACOLOD (Bacolod – IloIlo – Guimaras Itinerary)

I would like to share with your our Bacolod – IloIlo – Guimaras itinerary last August 28 to September 2, 2019 to celebrate Elijah’s 10th birthday.

BIG TOUR refers to Bacolod – IloIlo – Guimaras tour. If you want to tick three provinces in one go sa bucket list mo then this one is for you.

This itinerary that I am going to share is perfect for those who are travelling with kids and/or senior citizen because super chill and less lakad ang travel namin na ito.

Tara! Samahan nyo ko as I guide you through our super fun BIG TOUR.

This is our first local travel na sasakay ng airplane na kami lang tatlo kaya naman super excited at kabado kami. I booked our tickets via Cebu Pacific during seat sale. From Clark to Bacolod then Iloilo to Clark ang way namin.

Below is our expenses for airfare, accomodations, and tour packages so you will have an idea kung magkano ang magagastos for a 4 day Bacolod – IloIlo – Guimaras itinerary.

I booked our tickets last April 10, 2019 through Cebu Pacific mobile app. Achievement ito for me kasi first time ko mag book. Hahaha! Ang saya diba? Our hotels (Seda and Richmode) were booked thru Agoda tapos yung Cityscapes naman ay sa Airbnb. Haha huhuhu. I was planning na mag 2 nights sa SEDA pero naisip ko 11 pm na kami makakarating sa first day so hindi na worth it kaya airbnb nalang para mas tipid kahit konti. So baka yun yung na-save ko pero I did the math iba yung lumabas na sagot. Wahaha

Our flight was 1 hour and 20 minutes long from Clark International Airport to Bacolod Silay International Airport.

BACOLOD

Bacolod is the capital city of Negros Occidental,Philippines. Bacolod is known as The City of Smiles. They celebrate MassKara Festival every fourth Sunday of October.

We arrived at Bacolod Silay International Airport around 11 pm. I chose Cityscape Residences kasi nasa city center. Walking distance sa mga tourist attraction at sa SEDA Hotel na lilipatan namin the next day. Also, super bait and accomodating ng mga host namin na sina Mon & Justine kaya sila ang napili ko. They moved our check out time until 3 pm kaya matagal kami nakapagpahinga. You can book their Airbnb unit here: https://abnb.me/JF7Ns7j1RZ

We were supposed to do a Bacolod Day tour the next day pero gusto magpahinga ng mga boys so kumain lang kami ng brunch then went back sa condo. Haha! Nag check-out kami ng 2 pm sa condo then check-in sa SEDA. Walking distance lang ulit kaya madali lang magtransfer from once place to another.

Pinagbigyan ko na ang chikiting na magswimming for an hour kasi pupunta kami sa The Ruins at kakain pa ng dinner. From SEDA Hotel to The Ruins, 202 php ang GRAB fare namin. 215 php naman yung GRAB fare namin from The Ruins to Manokan Country.

There is nothing fancy about the place so please don’t expect too much. Maraming tao ang kumakain kaya most of the time ay may kahati kayong ibang tao sa lamesa. I ordered almost everything na nasa menu nila because why not. 😜 I will give 10/10 para sa chicken inasal ng Bacolod, ibang-iba ang lasa compared sa Mang Inasal. Mang Inasal ay more on the sweet side while and Bacolod inasal ay may asim dahil sa Sinamak.

On our second day sa Bacolod, nagbreakfast lang kami sa SEDA tapos nagswimming na ulit ang chikiting at daddy nya. Ako naman ay nagpunta sa BongBong’s to buy pasalubong for my dear sisters. Naglakad lang ako papunta dun pero nagjeep na ako pauwi kasi may bitbit na akong malaking karton full of pasalubong. Napakaswerte ng mga kapatid ko! 😜

Nag check-out kami ng 12 pm and dumiretso na kami sa BREDCO PORT Terminal (Aboitiz) para sumakay ng ferry papuntang Iloilo. 95 php ang GRAB fare namin from SEDA to port. Then I paid 100 php terminal fee. I think that is 40 php per head and 20 php pag student.

From our GRAB drivers and to almost anyone na makasalubong namin, they will all greet you and ang dami nilang kwento! Nakakatuwa.

  • Negrese Museum
  • Negros Showroom
  • Capitol Lagoon
  • Cathedral
  • Plaza
  • Pope John Paul Tower
  • Silay Ancestral Houses

Our stay in Bacolod was short but sweet. It is more of a staycation since we spent most of our time sa hotel. I promise that we will go back to Bacolod and make sure to visit all the tourist spots that we missed. I would like to thank my fellow mommy bloggers Dhadha Garcia and Que A Sullano-Gavan who accommodated all my questions with regards Bacolod.
