Toddler Constipation

Constipation is a common health problem that means irregular bowel movement. A person having three or fewer bowel movement in a week is said to be constipated.

Don’t worry if your child is suffering from constipation because it’s normal once in a while. There are home remedies that you can perform or prepare to provide relief to your kid who is suffering from constipation. If constipation lasts for more than a week, better consult a doctor because it might be a symptom of a more serious problem.

Constipation is usually caused by not getting enough fluid and eating high fiber food like fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Too much processed food, sweets and a change in diet like sudden transition from breast milk o formula milk can also cause constipation.

A toddler loves to play and going to the bathroom is a very hard thing to do. They are usually holding on to it and refuse to go to the bathroom even if they wanna poo or pee. When they experienced discomfort and painful bowel movement before they tend to avoid using the bathroom because they think it will hurt again. Some supplements like iron can also cause hard stools.
