Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy can be a sign of a serious problem, this can be a very frightening experience to any pregnant women and should contact their personal doctor for an immediate evaluation that may include ultrasound, physical exam and blood tests.
There are many reason behind the bleeding during pregnancy and always make sure that you let your doctor know how heavy or light it is to ensure that you and you’re baby are safe.
The most common causes of bleeding are after having sexual intercourse, an internal exam, miscarriage, placental abruption, infection, blighted ovum and premature labor. Bleeding can also be a sign of nearing labor. As your body is getting ready for labor, your cervix begins to dilate and pass mucus plug. IF it occurs before the 37th week of your pregnancy, you could be entering pre-term labor.
