Guide for First-Time Mothers

Pregnancy and the early stages of childhood can be hard work, especially if you’re not entirely sure what to do. Whether you’re in the first few weeks of pregnancy or, having just given birth, you need to know how to bathe your little boy or girl, you want to find out how to do it or cope with it in a flash. Thankfully, a new app from Bounty has all the information that a mother or mother-to-be could possibly need on everything from maternity clothes to baby names.

Among the range of tips and hints you can find on this app, which is available from the iPhone App Store, is advice on how to cope with the various symptoms of pregnancy like morning sickness and tiredness, how to look after your child from their very first day on this planet and which medicines are right for your baby. Aside from all that, there are a number of other features such as fashion advice, help with nutrition, health, emotional wellbeing and even fitness to help you shift some of the excess weight gained before birth post-pregnancy.

The app also comes with a number of unexpected features that are fun for both mother and child, not least the one where your child can play with a toy on-screen using activated movement. The app’s ease of use, array of features and video tutorials, not to mention the live news feed featuring updated articles, make it a useful tool for anyone who’s expecting or wants to know how to care for their child from the moment they arrive.

Tip for the Week: Try to eat healthfully, which means choosing a variety of foods from recommended food groups and drinking at least six to eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. But you don’t really need to “eat for two;” you only need an extra 300 calories per day during pregnancy. And don’t worry if your food intake drops in the beginning because of morning sickness. If you’ve been eating right already, your baby will get what it needs.
