Ruby Ricafrente’s Thanksgiving Contest

pinaymama · January 28, 2011 · 4 Comments

Last year was full of circumstances and hopes. I feel loved, hated, protected and was left behind. But all these things made me a stronger person. It made me see that everyday is worth living for. I embraced everything while asking God about the things I can’t understand, sooner I feel relieved. Not all things are made to be understood when it is not yet the right time.

February 14, 2010, It was Elijah’s christening. With the help of my mom, Kuya Olan, my sister K, my sister Rikka and Elijah’s godparents, we were able to celebrate his christening with a small gathering in our house. Also a big thanks to Paul and Lexene.

June 4, 2010, My sister Kaye gave me pinaymama to help me earn a living while taking care of Elijah. After how many weeks, I made Elijah a blog under blogger.com for additional income and transferred it to a self hosted blog last December 4.

July 5, 2010, I found out that I won as the second prize winner of  Noel and Levy’s Thanksgiving Contest. I am contented for what I got since I know Bella, Mommy Rubz daughter needed it much more than I do.

August 1, 2010, we were able to move to a new home where it is safe to go out anytime we want since there are no dogs in the street, there’s security 24 hours, no water problem and the house is not haunted. Also this month, Lloyd, ELijah’s dad was able to go back here in Baguio and start a new beginning with ELijah and me after leaving us for how many months without giving and saying anything.

August 7, 2010, got my very first income from blogging. I earned $70 under Blogsvertise just by writing four posts in ELijah’s blog and Pinay Mama. I am able to buy Elijah a 5-in-1 bottle from my own hard work and treat the family for a lunch.

September 1, 2010, was Elijah’s first major birthday. Lloyd used his savings to celebrate Elijah’s birthday that day even if the weather was not nice. It was raining the whole day but nothing stopped us from enjoying the day. The one I earned and received from the contest was used for our house basic needs.

September 3, 2010, finally, I met Lloyd’s dad. It was also the very first time he knew that Elijah is existing!

September 5, 2010, Elijah and his grandfather had some shopping. Lloyd and I had the chance to have a date for the very first time because Elijah is with his grandfather. Hehe.

October, had my first internet connection. My sister moved in to our house that made us happy. Big family!

November. My uncle Samson passes away. It’s not a good thing that is he is no longer alive but what we are all thankful is that he doesn’t have to feel the same pain he felt every single day.

December, My sisters’ and I gave mom a new refrigerator. I am able to pay 1/4 of my share. Ehe.

My dad, who is not with us for a long time is still healthy.

My mom, who is always traveling and working for us is still safe and healthy.

Kuya Olan, who is a house husband for a long time is now a regular call center agent in Makati.

Lexene, who is still studying is always taking care of herself by simply eating a lot.

My sisters are earning just right to sustain their family needs and wants. They are still together with their better half.

And me, helping to the household expenses, takes care of Lexene and the house when mom is away and earning with my own hard work. 🙂

2010 gave me what’s just right for me. I am thankful that we are all healthy last year. No major illness. We are still alive and kicking. More blogger friends and income. Hooray for a wonderful life!

January 2011, I earn big this month. What I mean with big is that atleast it reaches $30-$50. 🙂 Elijah recovered fast after being confined this month. He is learning new things very fast! I am updating my four blog sites religiously. 🙂 pinaymama.com got PR1 from mr. google after 7 months. Got two free self hosted blogs from the host of this contest and Ma Belle, a very good blogger friend in which I just knew this month also. 🙂

Friends are still there for me no matter what. Thank you God for giving me endless things to be thankful about. Thank you for allowing me to know you better. 🙂
