This is the time when babies have drastically turned into kids already. The same time as well when particularly they have a favourite thing commonly known as their “security blanket” since wherever they go, they always make sure they have it. This is not just a play toy but as mentioned security blanket that gives them the sense of security.
The exciting part here is your kid starts to show dominancy in their particular hand. Try observing your kid as much as possible as to what hand he or she uses most of the time. At the age of 1 year, they start to favour that one already.
On the other hand, this might also be the time when they discover things a lot better or sometimes worst like ripping of his or her diaper for example. The times when they are not really at their best but this is where you observe when security blankets are indeed their heroes. Get used to their advancing attachment to it that every time they feel anxious, it is the best object to tuck to. However, this causes no alarm but redirecting their energy might be better like giving them other options in releasing their tension –a play toy for example that they could punch or pound.
