Ring Finger

Husband and wife

“From this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as we both shall live.”

Above is a kind of a traditional vow which we usually hear in a wedding ceremony here in the Philippines. it’s really romantic to witness to individuals promised to love one another through thick and thin.

There is a vein in the left ring finger that was believed to be directly linked to the heart. It is referred to as the vena amoris, a latin word which means “a vein of love”. That is why the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger.

Another explanation made by Chinese is the one below:

Thumb represents your Parents
Second finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your Self
Fourth finger represents your Life Partner
Last finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms .(face to face), bend the middle fingers & hold them together – back to back
Second, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb tip to tip.
Third, separate your thumbs. They will open because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong and have to leave you.
Fourth, separate your Index fingers. They will also open because your siblings will soon have their own families.
Fifth, separate your little fingers. They will open too because your children will get married and settle down on their own.
Sixth, separate your ring fingers. You can’t? why? because husband and wife have to remain together all their lives.
