Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Vaccine

pinaymama · November 24, 2010 · 6 Comments

I wake up very early today to bring Elijah to the nearest health center (ATAB). He is scheduled for his MMR vaccine. The attendant told me last week when I had my DMPA injection that they offer the MMR vaccine for one year and three months old kid for free so I grab the chance.

MMR stands for Measles, Mumps, Rubella. It protects our little ones against the three viruses. The one shot vaccine was less painful than having three different injections at the same time. The second dose should be given at the age of four or five. It won’t cause fever after injecting.

The vaccine costs less than one thousand pesos in private clinics. I am really blessed that ATAB offers free vaccines for my unico iho. FYI, All his injections were free. ๐Ÿ™‚

had my son vaccinated with MMR too. but you know what, i’ve read a news before that the MMR vaccine causes autism. i saw a news clip before in BBC, i really couldn’t believe it, but i really don’t know. that was like 5 years ago, before i had my son. but thankfully, my son is as healthy as he can be. i hope that experts could really find out what really causes autism coz it’s really scary. thanks again for dropping by. glad to have found another mom blogger. hope we can also exchange links… Merry Christmas!

My son, A has already completed his MMR vaccine. I remember the first time 7 years ago. It was pretty new then and more expensive than the usual. Still, we all want what’s best for our child. ๐Ÿ™‚ Good job ka dito, Mommy ๐Ÿ™‚

I have no idea yet what vaccines babies would need to get but I guess the pedia will inform me that when I bring my baby there?

Vaccines at private clinics are really expensive. Good thing there are health centers to give it for free. You’re lucky to have you kid’s vaccines all for free! ๐Ÿ™‚
