My Most Memorable Moment As A Mother

Every single second with my son Elijah is memorable to me. He made me realize how wonderful life is. For those who are not reading my blog, I got Elijah when I was in my second year college. I thought God was punishing me for too much night partying that I have. I didn’t know what to do then. I can’t think properly. I can’t even tell my mom that I am pregnant.

After seeing Elijah for the very first time, everything changed. I WAS WRONG. God was not punishing me. He just gave me the biggest blessing I never imagined to have.

My Baguio Centennial Boy is now 1 year and 8 months.

Elijah knows everyone in our house. He can recognize their voice, face and body built but not me. He just smile and say hi to me as if I’m a stranger to him. He can say everything but not Mama. It hurts a lot since I am the one who breastfeed him and we are together 24 hours a day. He learns very fast but he can’t say Mama. But last May 16, 2011, the boy who will conquer every milk in the world called me MAMA. I felt like crying because after how many months he knows I am not Tita Aija, Dede Man or Ayie anymore. I am now his MAMA. He calls me Mama whenever he wakes up every morning and before we sleep at night.

My most memorable moment as Elijah’s mum is when he called me Mama.

Having a baby may be the best reward or blessing a woman could receive from God especially after all the hurt, the confusion and maybe anger towards your situation being only a college student at that time. I will be proud myself if ever time comes God will give me a bundle of Joy just like yours! Goodluck on being a mother!

  15. Being a mother is a blessing and a privilege. The mother is the most important person in a child’s life. A mother’s love for a child lasts forever. Only with a mother’s guidance and love can a child grow to be happy and productive citizen. The formative years in a child’s life are the most important factors that govern their attitudes and behavior that will follow them throughout their life. A good start in life is half the battle.

  16. Its a nice article. It shows how joyful you are for your baby. Really your son is blessed with a good mom.Hope these memories stay for u very long.

  17. always for a mother, the happiest moment she can experience(apart frm when the child is born) is when the baby 1st calls u ‘mama’.A mother only becomes complete when the baby reciprocates her love through verbal description and at that age it is ‘mama’ which is the word…I congratulate u on becoming a mother and hope u have good times ahead.

  18. I was touched with your story as it’s the same feeling when my son called me mommy. Until now, whenever he calls me mommy, my heart feels warm. It used to be that my kid prefers to be with other people than me, so when he recognizes me as his mommy, it was one memorable moment.

  19. Elijah stands for lessons learned and blessings best received. Mommying will definitely keep you away from too much partying. :p What’s the best thing about it is “it is very much worth it”! 🙂

  20. Well, how wonderful article about mom and kids. I have got a son. And i remember clear every details of the things after his coming. Well, it is really a blessing from god. Though being a mom sometimes makes you very tired, especially when he or she is ill. But the pleasures preponderate over the hardwork.

  21. Every Mom’s memorable moment is when their child first calls them “Mom”, “Mommy” or in your case, “MAMA”. It’s happy to hear about that – and, you have a blessing from above. He’s an angel. 🙂

  22. There is No relationship that could exist with so much love forever ! This Relationship is very precious and it feels great for a mom when a child calls her mama!

  23. Hi there, i am so touched by your story. I have been married for a year now but am not planning to have kids until 2-3 years. After hearing your sweet story, i reckon i could start thinking about having kids sometimes next year. I always think that kids come with great responsibilities but it seems i am not quite right….

Anyways, i completely admire you for taking the challenge to raise a baby. I am happy for you and your lovely baby.
    God Bless both of you!
    Love.
    Shweta

  25. This is great to heard MAMA from your son as a ladies gets her full life after she became mother and you reached at that point.
Its really make happy to listen MAMA from son’s mouth and it is fully wrong that God punish, God never punish and giving birth to a child is a blessing to every mother

  26. What an awesome message. This makes the great essence of being a mother. A child is really a gift from God and not all women are bestowed with such gift. A mother who cherishes every moment with his son is really to be appreciated. May you both keep a nice relationship.
